A Texas woman is suing Blockbuster for sharing her video rental and purchase information with friends on Facebook. Blockbuster participates in Facebook Beacon's advertising program which apparently caused this woman to feel her privacy rights were violated. Now that a participating merchant of Beacon's program has been sued, you have to wonder how it will affect other advertisers thoughts of joining the program.
Hopefully this will open some eyes of social network site users. Not every site wants to use your personal information for their benefit.
